1908 Bluthner Style VII Grand Piano - 6’3" - Fully Refurbished in 2010

This is a first class instrument from the golden era of one of the world’s finest piano makers. It was fully refurbished in 2010 by a very well regarded piano shop in Oxford and the restoration is superb throughout. The piano has been only lightly used since then but very well looked after, tuned regularly and remains in excellent condition. These pianos are increasingly rare in the UK, especially so wonderfully restored and at this price. We sold this piano 2 years ago and have tuned it for the buyer during that time. She is now moving into a smaller house and so this wonderful piano is availabe for sale again. Viewings welcome.



Tone and tuning

The classic 'Bluthner' tone that is warm yet powerful, rich and crystal clear, with an even sound throughout the registers. The bass is strong a powerful, the tenor section beautifully sweet and the treble just sings! Excellent dynamic range. This is a piano that just loves to be played. Tuned to concert pitch (A=440).



Keyboard and action

The full size 88 note original keyboard remains in excellent condition. The action is Bluthner’s renowned ‘patent’ action which has a fairly light and very expressive feel. The repetition is not quite as fast as the later ‘roller’ actions which tend to be a bit heavier with faster repetitions. This piano would be suitable for players of every level from beginner to professional.



Hammers and strings

The hammers, strings and tuning pins were all replaced in 2010 and are of course still in excellent condition with very little wear to the hammers.



Sound board

Excellent condition - no cracks, splits or bumps.



Case

Very attractive rosewood case, in excellent condition - there are a few very small marks here and there but these do not detract from a piano that is as stunning to see as to listen to. The adjustable stool is included in the sale

191cm / 6’ 3” long, 100cm high, 152cm wide - a large baby grand or ‘boudoir' grand piano, truly impressive in stature and sound.
