This is a stunning looking and sounding small upright piano made in 1987 in England by Welmar, one of the finest of the British piano makers. It would be ideal for a smaller space and suitable for all levels of pianist. Welmar pianos are very highly regarded for their tonal quality and reliability and are very popular with musicians and teachers. They worked closely with Bluthner over the years and the influence can definitely be heard in the sweet and mellow tone.



Tone and tuning

This piano has a very pleasant sound indeed, with an ideal balance between warmth and brightness, and good dynamic range for a small piano. Tuned to concert pitch (A=440). The middle pedal operates the mute rail for very quiet practice.


Keyboard and action

The full 88 note keyboard is in excellent condition. The ‘Langer' action was made in England and well liked by pianists and tuners alike. It has been regulated to play smoothly across the whole keyboard with a medium weight action, which will suit most players, including beginners.


Hammers and strings

Strings are in excellent condition as per photos. The hammers are also in great condition with only light wear.



Sound board

European spruce soundboard - in perfect condition, no cracks or splits.


Case

Beautiful and quite rare ‘Regency’ style case, dark walnut with high gloss lacquer and some lovely features like the carved front legs.


Dimensions

144 cm wide, 50 deep, 108 tall. This is a very neat and stylish piano without compromising on quality. Adjustable stool included.
