Unpretentious, authentic and the first company to bring conveyor belt sushi to the UK, Moshi Moshi is looking for a junior sushi chef for our flagship restaurant in Liverpool Street Station. The position in our sushi counter focusses on making maki rolls, preparing vegetables and fish and packing sushi takeaway boxes. All our sushi is hand-made on site, and we use local ingredients where possible, and in particular use locally and sustainably caught fish.

We are a small team of 6 chefs, many of whom have worked together for a decade or more. The successful candidate will have at minimum of one year experience in sushi, and from there will be trained by our highly skilled chefs on all aspects of the sushi counter including sushi making, from preparing and filleting whole fish, to making nigiri sushi, and the presentation of sashimi and sushi.

Candidates will have the following qualities:

Passion for food, eager to learn, good team worker and reliable
One year experience of Japanese food would be an advantage but not essential
Reliable, good team worker

The position is full time with up to 42 hours / week, though part time positions will be considered.

We are closed at the weekends and on Bank Holidays.

Staff lunch provided, tips shared equally with the kitchen team, bonus holiday of 3 weeks in addition to the standard holidays after 4 years of service. Holidays 4 weeks plus bank holidays rises to 5 weeks after 2 years.

We make everything from scratch at Moshi Moshi and use plenty of locally sourced fish in our sushi, and emphasise wild over farmed fish where ever possible.
