Euraqua Uk is a small engineering firm with 30 years experience designing and manufacturing water treatment equipment for the UK market. Having been brought into the PWG 5 years ago it now has the financial backing to enable it to implement this knowledge into a wider geographical and technological markets. To further aid this transition a purpose built factory has just been built and opened.

The result of this is an engineering firm with the benefits of a small firm and the resources of a large group. We are looking for a Production manager at our new manufacturing site in Hitchin Hertfordshire to help us to make innovative custom engineered products.

The Position

Leading an 11 strong team of multi-disciplined (mechanical and electrical) assemblers to manufacture water treatment equipment for the UK, European and Australian market. The products we manufacture are a mix of distributed components, catalogue standard plant and bespoke designed equipment as an OEM supplier into the water treatment industry.

Responsibilities

As a production manager, you'll oversee the production process, coordinating all production activities and operations. You'll need to:

plan and draw up a production scheduledecide on and order the resources that are required and ensure stock levels remain adequateselect equipment and take responsibility for its maintenanceset the quality standardsensure that the production will be cost effective by estimating costs and negotiating and agreeing budgets with both clients and managersmonitor the production processes and adjust schedules as neededmonitor productivity rates and product standards and implement quality control programmesorganise the repair of any damaged equipmentliaise with different departments, teams and companies, e.g. suppliers, managers, clientsensure that health and safety guidelines are followed at all timesensure customer orders are completed on time and to budget and that quality standards and targets are metwork with managers to implement the company's policies and goalscollate and analyse data, putting together production reports for both factory managers and customerssupervise and motivate a team of workersreview worker performance and identify training needs.You'll be involved in the pre-production (planning) stage as well as the production (control and supervision) stage. A large part of the job is dealing with people and resource management.

You will also be involved with product design and purchasing.
