My name is Valerio Vaiarelli and I’m a 45 years old Italian musician based in London.
My qualifications:
MMus Popular Music Performance (University of West London).
LLCM Teaching Diploma (University of West London / London College of Music).
Diploma in Pianoforte [v.o.] (Conservatoire of Music Vincenzo Bellini, Italy).
Also, I am a registered member of the Registry of Guitar Tutors (RGT).
What my students say about me:
Valerio is the most passionate and least judgemental teacher I've ever had, and it's through my regular sessions with him that I've discovered how creative I am. He can create a lesson out of any tune and finds ways into diverse genres, expanding your musical knowledge and appreciation.
Lucy
Valerio is a brilliant teacher. I’d not touched my bass in almost 15 years, and he immediately inspired me with his incredible passion for the instrument and his ambition for what I can achieve.
Adam
Valerio is an excellent teacher. He's really good at finding and strengthen areas that need to be improved to help you to become a well-rounded bass player. All the while the lessons are relaxed and fun.

About me:
My music journey started when I was very young, and I immediately realised that music was my vocation.
At age 9, I began my academic life studying classical music performance for a decade.
After graduating, I attended classes with several well-known electric bass and double bass players.
Through many years of research and playing over a thousand gigs, I explored all kinds of repertoire: Blues, Soul, R&B, Funk, Rock, Reggae, Pop, Latin, Jazz, as well as original compositions.
In 2017, I specialised in music teaching and popular music performance at the University of West London / London College of Music.
Over the past twenty years, while producing my own music and getting involved in recordings of other artists, I also gained extensive recording studio experience.
As a bass player, I owe everything to: James Jamerson, Chuck Rainey, Larry Graham, Jaco Pastorius, Marcus Miller, Aston Barrett, Juan Nelson, Flea, and Ray Brown.
About lessons:
I started teaching when I was 20, so I have now a twenty-five-year experience in tuition.
My easy-going personality and my joyful approach to teaching make me at ease with every type of student: children, adults, absolute beginners or advanced, amateurs or professional musicians.
My lessons are always tailored to fit each student’s needs. Subjects covered at any level include sight-reading, technique, music theory, performance, study of repertoires, aural training, harmony, improvisation, composition and song-writing.
I can teach RGT and Rockschool grades and diplomas’ syllabuses.
Up until now, all my students have passed their exams with merit and distinction and none of them has ever failed.
With my classes, I can also help music producers who need to deepen their musical knowledge and bring their productions to a higher level, music lovers who want just to have fun and learn how to play their favourite songs, and songwriters who need to improve their skills.
I am available for in-person and online lessons.
Do not hesitate to contact me for further information.
